BEHIND THE PROCESS

EPIGENETICS

Research in epigenetics has shown that descendants of survivors of traumatic experiences have been impacted by their ancestors' exposure to trauma, putting them at increased risk for problems like anxiety and depression.1

ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES

Findings from the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study have shown a 'powerful correlation' between exposure to adverse experiences and dysfunction in childhood and the occurrence of addiction and illness in adulthood.2 Researchers have concluded that coping strategies often lead to addictive behaviors.3

ATTACHMENT THEORY

Research in attachment theory has shown that patterns for dealing with emotionscan be connected to childhood relationships with caregivers. Further, research has found that these patterns, which are formed in the first few years of life, show continuity in their infant, adolescent, and adult stages.4

HIERARCHY OF NEEDS

This humanistic book is considered "the third force in psychology after Behaviorism and Psychoanalytic theory." Self-actualization is the highest level of human need.5

"I HAVE USED THE PROCESS FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS WITH THOUSANDS OF CLIENTS AND HAVE FOUND THAT THIS SIMPLE PROCESS IS PROFOUNDLY EFFECTIVE IN HELPING OTHERS."
